My Hardest Day

Emma has been in preschool for about a year and a half now. During that time, Macey has been my little buddy while Emma was in school. We would run errands or go to the gym. We had great adventures together.

Today, Macey started preschool. She is part of the First Flight program with Emma. Everytime I thought of losing my little buddy, I teared up. But, the day finally came when it was time to send my little buddy off to school.

Garry took the day off and we dropped off our girls together. Macey was so excited. She jumped out of the van and yelled, "Bye Mom!" I'm sure that deep, deep down she was sad to see our time together end.

It's a toss up which is worse one that says "goodbye" or the one who screams that they don't want to leave you. I prefer the first even though it broke my heart the first time Brighton left me to go to preschool...hence why Peyton doesn't.

I still get teary each Ausgust on the first day of school and this year I had a 5th grader. Don't even get me started on next year-I'm having total anxiety about Jr High.

I totally understand, it is very hard . . . it's even tougher to have them leave the nest one by one. Enjoy each stage, the joy and the pain, sometimes it's hard to tell the difference!!!

Hi Alicia, This is a little belated, but CONGRATULATIONS on your new baby girl. She looks like such a sweet little thing in the pictures. And your big girls are so cute and spunky. I especially like the "sprout" ponytail hairdo. I think those are adorable. (Sort of like Pebbles from The Flintstones.) I read your blog very regularly. You can call me a fan. :)
